Overview of the Master of Healthcare Innovation Program

The Master of Healthcare Innovation is a leadership program focused on teaching the science of innovation for direct application in a world full of change. With a curriculum centered around innovation, this program helps students gain the knowledge and skills needed to facilitate new ideas, products, and services for the betterment of patient care and accessibility.


Program Details

  • The Master of Healthcare Innovation can be completed as part of an accelerated track wherein students obtain both a bachelor's and master's degree in as little as one extra year after completing an undergraduate degree.
  • Students can earn a master’s in health care innovation in one of five Accelerated Master's program options, which include:
    • Bachelor of Applied Science in health entrepreneurship and innovation.
    • Bachelor of Science in community health.
    • Bachelor of Science in health care coordination.
    • Bachelor of Science in health entrepreneurship and innovation.
    • Bachelor of Science in integrative health.
  • Each program has unique requirements to be eligible.

Curriculum and Learning Outcomes

In the master’s in health care innovation, students develop competence in the design, application, and testing of innovative processes and products, with a primary focus on preparing to lead processes of innovation and transformation. Students also learn how to create and sustain cultures of innovation in health care from multiple perspectives, such as:

Application Requirements

Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a nationally recognized, regionally accredited academic institution.


  • Applicants for this master’s in health care innovation must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of their first bachelor's degree. Alternatively, a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in an applicable master's degree is acceptable.
  • All applicants must submit:
    • Graduate admission application and application fee.
    • Official transcripts.
    • Up-to-date curriculum vitae or resume.
    • Proof of English language proficiency (for certain applicants).
