Program Overview
Introduction to the Master's Program in International Security
The Master's program in International Security at the University of Groningen is a full-time, 12-month program that focuses on issues of power politics and international order, peace and war, and strategy and diplomacy. Students who do not have a VWO diploma or a subject certificate for VWO English (mark 6 or higher) must provide a minimum requirement of TOEFL iBT 90 (with a minimum of 21 on all items) or IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6 on all items) or Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency.

The tuition fees for the program are €2,601 for EU/EEA students and €19,200 for non-EU/EEA students.

The chairgroup International Security Studies (ISS) is part of the Department of IRIO and contributes to the Faculty's research theme Conflict Studies. The group focuses on various issue-areas, including military & defence policies, terrorism, peace making, peace building & peace keeping, and securitization in energy, food, and health policies.
