Renewable Energy Assessment
The Undergraduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Assessment and Development provides students with the opportunity to assess and implement renewable energy technologies. This 12-credit-hour certificate is open to both NC State degree-seeking students and non-degree students.
Delivery Format
The certificate is delivered online, with courses including lecture videos, activities, and other media accessed from NC State’s WolfWare website. Students interact extensively with both the instructor and their peers using online communication tools.
Entrance Exam
No entrance exam is required for this certificate program.
College of Natural Resources
The College of Natural Resources offers this certificate, which is designed to provide students with the ability to assess facilities and land for renewable energy production.
Eligibility
The certificate is open to all NC State undergraduate degree-seeking students and to those who are enrolled as Non-Degree Studies (NDS) students.
Plan of Study
The certificate program requires 12 undergraduate credit hours (four courses). Students pursuing only the university certificate program are considered non-degree studies (NDS) students for the purpose of university registration. NDS students may register for a maximum course load of two courses per semester. Thus, the certificate may take from two to four semesters to complete. A minimum grade of “C” is required for each course.
