Program Overview


Renewable Energy Assessment and Development

The Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Assessment and Development (RED) is a fully online program that provides students and professionals with the opportunity to earn recognized academic and industry credentials in the renewable energy industry. This interdisciplinary program covers the technical, policy, and financial aspects of renewable energy project development, supplying a comprehensive understanding of renewables.

Eligibility

Admission to the certificate program requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with at least a 3.0 GPA. All applicants must submit:


  • Transcript showing Bachelor's degree conferred
  • A clear and concise personal statement/statement of interest
  • A resume/CV

Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted by rolling admission each semester.

Program Structure

The Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Assessment and Development is a subprogram of the Master of Environmental Assessment. It is also available to current NC State students in other graduate programs. Students enrolled in the graduate certificate program, if qualified, may apply to the broader Master of Environmental Assessment Degree. Up to nine units of coursework may be counted toward the Master of Environmental Assessment Degree. Students with a master’s degree in a related field can use the certificate as a standalone credential.


Accreditation

North Carolina State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees.
