Course Content
The Bachelor's degree program in Comparative German Studies as a minor subject (25%) provides students with fundamental knowledge of the concepts and methods associated with the selected specialization (German linguistics and/or literature). The specialization chosen as part of the degree program includes a career-oriented applied subject area. Students may choose between either Didactics of German as a Foreign/Second Language or Intercultural Communication.
Course Structure
Introductory Module: Minor Subject
The Introductory Module provides fundamental knowledge of the concepts and methods associated with the selected specialization (linguistics and/or literature). It is recommended for the 1st – 3rd semesters. Before enrolling in courses, students should discuss their individual interests and previously-attained subject knowledge with their academic advisor(s).
Advanced Module: Minor Subject
The Advanced Module provides students with in-depth knowledge of the selected specialization (linguistics and/or literature). It is recommended for the 2nd – 5th semesters. Before enrolling in courses, students should discuss their individual interests and previously-attained subject knowledge with their academic advisor(s).
Career-Oriented Applied Courses
Students must select a module from either Didactics of German as a Foreign/Second Language or Intercultural Communications. This will provide students with fundamental subject-specific and methodological knowledge, recommended for the 1st – 5th semesters.
