Course Content
The degree program component in economics in the Master of Education is designed to prepare students to become teachers of economics as a school subject in German secondary schools (Gymnasium). The program builds on students' knowledge of economics, gained in the preceding Bachelor's degree program, by equipping them with additional knowledge and skills in the subject and in specialized didactics.

Program Description
Graduates of the program are familiar with the economic models and concepts required to teach economics at secondary school level. They are able to recognize economic problems, behaviors, and conflicts on a micro and macro level, provide systematic explanations for these, and draw on appropriate models for analysis. As well as gaining specific knowledge of economics, students benefit from interdisciplinary approaches to develop their understanding of selected neighboring subjects or gain practical experience in the field of economics.
