Course Content
The undergraduate Bachelor’s program in English Studies comprises the scientific study of the English language (linguistics) and literature (literary studies), a cultural studies lecture, fundamental language training, as well as a specialized didactics course. The specialized curriculum is divided equally between English literature and linguistics.
Course Structure
In the two initial orientation semesters, introductory courses in linguistics, literary studies, and phonetics provide students with subject-specific fundamental skills and knowledge. These are followed by more specialized modules in linguistics, literature, and cultural studies, consisting of seminars or a lecture that may be selected by students in accordance with their needs and preferences from a wide range of modules.
