The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences offers a degree programme component in Political Science as part of the Master of Education. Program Structure
The Master of Education is a consecutive programme that can be started in either the winter or summer semester. The standard period of study is 4 semesters, and the programme is offered on a part-time basis. The degree programme combines specialist subject knowledge with specialised didactics, focusing on practical skills required in the classroom.
Course Content
The programme is designed to build upon a successfully completed Bachelor's degree programme of at least three years with relevance to two subjects and teaching. Students become familiar with political theories, concepts, and methods, and learn to reflect critically on didactic concepts central to the teaching of political science. They also gain practical experience in implementing such approaches, planning, developing, and delivering lessons based on specialist topics addressed in the programme.
Course Structure
To successfully complete the degree programme component in Political Science, students must gain 18 credits in specialist subject modules and 13 credits in course elements focusing on specialised didactics. In addition, students gain 15 credits for the completion of a Master's thesis in Political Science. The Master's thesis is seen as a separate module.
