Program Overview

The Faculty of Behavioural and Cultural Studies offers a Bachelor's program in Sport Science with a vocational teaching profession. This program focuses on working with and for people, covering central topics in movement, games, and sports, as well as school sports, amateur sports, high-performance sports, and sports for health purposes.

Course Content

Graduates of the Sport Science program possess fundamental, structured, and connected knowledge in the field of movement and sport in relation to education and upbringing, individual and society, movement and training, and body and health. They can describe questions related to the subject and specific methods and work techniques. They connect knowledge regarding children and adolescents, as well as adults and the elderly. They are familiar with basic models of the emergence, therapy, and rehabilitation of epidemiologically significant disease patterns, including institutions and cost carriers in the rehabilitation system. They are able to reflect and judge analytically and critically in terms of movement and sport, and to make newer sports science research results accessible for communication processes in sports.


Course Structure

For a successful completion of the program, students must achieve a total of 57 credit points in nine modules. Modules 1 to 5 convey fundamental knowledge in the field of movement and sport from a humanities, social, behavioral, and natural science perspective, as well as in empirical research and work methods. Modules 6 to 10 focus on sport-specific and sport-overlapping motor knowledge and skills for designing communication and learning processes. Of modules 7 to 10, three must be completed. Additionally, a subject didactics module with 2 credit points must be taken.
