MSc Civil Engineering Tracks

The master's program in Civil Engineering offers six tracks, allowing students to gain specialized knowledge in a particular field.

1. Structural Engineering: This track focuses on the calculation of deflections, buckling, and strength of structures such as bridges, high-rises, tunnels, and storm surge barriers.
2. Traffic and Transport Engineering: This track trains students to play a central role in resolving traffic and transport-related problems such as congestion, air pollution, and delayed public transport.
3. Structural & Materials Engineering: This track trains students to choose, develop, and manufacture construction materials for application in structural components and civil structures, with the goal of creating a more sustainable and resilient built environment.
4. Geotechnical Engineering: This track provides dedicated training to educate geotechnical engineers to the high level required by industry, focusing on the ground as an integral part of all civil engineering constructions.
5. Hydraulic Engineering: This track focuses on the protection of deltas against flooding, the existence of beaches for recreation, and the value of rivers and coastal seas for nature.
6. Hydraulic and Offshore Structures: This track trains students to face some of the most complicated civil engineering challenges, such as the creation of a world powered by renewable energy from wind turbines at sea.
