MSc Sustainable Energy Technology
Program Overview
MSc Sustainable Energy Technology
The MSc Sustainable Energy Technology (SET) programme at Delft University of Technology focuses on the development of sustainable energy technologies. The programme is designed to provide students with a broad overview of the challenges and solutions for the transition to a sustainable energy system.
Track: Heating and Cooling
The Heating and Cooling track within the MSc SET programme is dedicated to the challenges and solutions for the heat transition. The track provides students with a broad overview of the challenges and solutions for decarbonising heating and cooling, ranging from individual houses to collective systems and industry.
First Year: Theoretical Basis and Integration Project
The first year of the programme comprises theoretical study, assignments, and (virtual) laboratory work. Students gain a broad knowledge of the sustainable energy field and choose three out of the following eight profiles:
- Heat Sources
- Heat in Buildings
- Large-Scale Heat Systems
- Digital Energy Technologies
- Waste & Combined Heat and Power
- Solar Energy
- Power Engineering
- Economics & Society These profiles are organised in pre-defined profile clusters. During the second, third, and fourth quarters, students work in groups on an integration project, applying the technical knowledge they have acquired in a case study under realistic conditions.
Second Year: Electives and Graduation
The second year is devoted to electives and the graduation project, which involves participating in an advanced research or design project in an academic or industrial environment in the Netherlands or abroad.
