Program Overview
Sustainability Program Overview
The Sustainability program is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a background in sustainability-related skills, knowledge, and best practices. The program is open enrolment, which means there is no formal application or admission procedure.
Program Details
- The program consists of four online courses: Principles of Sustainability, Practices for Sustainable Living, Practices for Sustainable Business, and Responsible Production and Consumption.
- Each course is approximately 2.5 hours per week and can be completed in 3+ months.
- The program is taught by industry experts and features instructor-led lectures, group discussions, and individual and small group practical application activities.
- Upon successful completion of three out of four courses, students will receive a digital certificate of completion.
Admission Requirements
- The program is open to anyone with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or those who are deemed mature students.
- Students must have knowledge and skills with general computer applications, such as keyboarding, file management, video conferencing, and word processing.
- If English is not the student's native language, they must meet McMaster University's English proficiency requirements.

- The course schedule is subject to change, but typically includes:
- Principles of Sustainability (SUS 101): $310.00, 6-8 hours of study per week
- Practices for Sustainable Living (SUS 102): $310.00, 6-8 hours of study per week
- Practices for Sustainable Business (SUS 103): $310.00, 6-8 hours of study per week
- Responsible Production and Consumption (SUS 104): $310.00, 6-8 hours of study per week
