Overview

The Master of Science in Health Science in the Field of Biomedical Laboratory Science, Advanced Practice and Leadership Concentration, is a program offered by George Washington University. The admission requirements for this program include:

  • Recommendations Required: Two (2) recommendations
  • Prior Academic Records:
    • Transcripts required from all colleges and universities attended
    • Transcripts must be forwarded in their original sealed envelopes
    • If academic records are in a language other than English, a certified English language translation must be provided in addition to the original transcripts
    • Official transcripts from institutions outside the U.S. must be accompanied by an official transcript evaluation from an accredited independent evaluating agency
  • Statement of Purpose:
    • In an essay of 250 to 500 words, describe reasons for undertaking study in the Health Sciences at the George Washington University
    • State academic objectives, career plans, and related qualifications
  • Degree and GPA Requirements:
    • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
    • Overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Students must have completed a combination of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of biological, chemical, and/or medical science courses with a grade of C or higher
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Resume/CV
    • National certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Blood Banking Technologist/Specialist, or Microbiology Technologist/Specialist
