Course Description

Learning and Assessment
- Learning: The program adopts a model of architectural education focusing primarily on the design studio, supported by lectures, seminars, field trips, and workshops.
- Assessment: Students are assessed through both group and individual coursework, including design portfolios, written reports, or presentations. Feedback is given via individual and group tutorials and studio-based design reviews.
Entry Requirements
- Standard offer: AAA at A Level, with specific requirements for other qualifications such as International Baccalaureate, BTEC Extended Diploma, and Access to HE Diploma.
- Access Sheffield offer: AAB at A Level, with specific requirements for other qualifications.
- Other requirements: GCSE Maths grade 4/C, evidence of artistic ability in the form of a portfolio, and English language requirements.
Graduate Careers
Graduates often go into architectural practice for a year or two before pursuing a two-year MArch in Architecture. They also pursue careers in the built environment or move on to a specialist master's course. Employers include AHMM, ARUP, Building Design Partnership, and Grimshaw Architects.

Our Selection Process
After applying, students are asked to submit a portfolio of their own artwork, demonstrating observation skills, criticality, invention, and representation. Generally, candidates are not required to attend an interview, but mature students or those without conventional academic qualifications may be invited for an interview.
