Economics and Mathematics BSc

The University of Sheffield offers a dual honours degree in Economics and Mathematics, combining advanced mathematical and technical skills with the opportunity to apply these to real-world economics issues and policy.


Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both economics and mathematics, allowing them to develop the analytical skills that support sound economic reasoning and the highly effective problem-solving of a mathematician. Learning and Assessment

Entry Requirements

The standard entry requirements for this course are:


  • A Levels: AAB, including A in Maths
  • International Baccalaureate: 34, with 6 in Higher Level Maths
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM + A in A Level Maths
  • Access to HE Diploma: Award of the Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject, with 45 credits at Level 3, including 36 at Distinction (to include Maths units), and 9 at Merit English language requirements: GCSE English Language at grade 4/C; IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.

Fees and Funding
