Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering BEng
The Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering BEng course is designed to equip students with the skills, creativity, and hands-on experience to become highly employable engineers. Course Description
The course covers the core of mechatronics and robotics, from intelligent system design to control and embedded systems. Students will learn to use industry-standard equipment, including 3D CAD tools, 3D printers, and advanced manufacturing technologies. The course also includes modules designed with industry partners, spanning topics such as robotics and artificial intelligence, industrial control, and advanced manufacturing.

Learning and Assessment
The course is taught through a combination of lectures, practical labs, and tutorials, as well as independent study. Assessment is by a combination of exams and tests, coursework, and practical work.
Entry Requirements
The standard entry requirements for the course are:
- A Levels: AAB, including Maths and a science
- International Baccalaureate: 34, with 6,5 (in any order) in Higher Level Maths and a science
- BTEC Extended Diploma: DDD in Engineering + B in A Level Maths
- Other qualifications are also accepted, including Access to HE Diploma and T Levels

- Overseas students: £30,570 (2025 annual tuition fee) There are also additional costs, such as equipment and materials, and funding opportunities available, including scholarships and bursaries.
Placements and Study Abroad
The course offers the opportunity to add an optional placement year, converting the three-year course to a four-year Degree with Placement Year. Students can also apply to extend the course with a year abroad, usually between the second and third year, with over 250 University partners worldwide.
