Program Overview

Aerospace Engineering MSc

The Aerospace Engineering MSc is a carefully designed conversion course for engineering graduates looking to specialise in aerospace. This fully immersive course draws upon expertise from across the Faculty of Engineering and has close ties with some of the world's leading aerospace companies.

Course Description

The course has two strands: one for people converting from another discipline to aerospace engineering, and the other for those with a strong aerospace engineering background. For students converting to aerospace engineering, a series of foundational core modules are designed to ensure the development of a strong aerospace understanding. For students who already have a strong aerospace engineering background, advanced core modules are available to enhance their understanding of critical areas in aviation technologies.

Modules

A selection of modules is available each year, including:

  • Core modules:
    • Aero Propulsion
    • Aerodynamic Design
    • Aerospace Group Design Project: Build and Test
    • Aerospace Group Design Project: Design
    • Aerospace Individual Investigative Project
    • Aircraft Design
    • Aircraft Dynamics and Control
  • Optional modules:
    • Advanced Aerospace Propulsion Technology
    • Advanced Control
    • Advanced Engineering Fluid Dynamics
    • Advanced Dynamics
