Requirements and application
On what criteria are applicants selected?
This study program is admission-free, provided you meet the admission requirements. There is no need for an application, and you can enroll directly for this study program. No selection process takes place.
Which requirements must I meet for studies?
The study of an extension subject - in addition to the two-subject Bachelor's degree program in teaching at a grammar school with an academic degree Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - is designed as a supplementary Master's program. Therefore, this study program can only be started after the successful completion of the B.Ed. However, students can voluntarily and non-bindingly complete additional study achievements (pre-achievements extension subject) in a third subject during the B.Ed., which can later be fully credited to the Master's program in the extension subject. However, providing pre-achievements is no guarantee of later admission to the Master's program.
For registration for the pre-achievements extension subject, the following framework conditions apply:
- The student is enrolled at the University of Tübingen in the B.Ed.
- The student is at least in one of the two main subjects in at least the 3rd semester.
- The student can register for pre-achievements extension subject in exactly one additional subject (only one subject in the pre-achievements at the same time, subject changes are possible).
- The student can only register for subjects that offer pre-achievements extension subject, i.e., the main subjects of the B.Ed. that want to offer an EF or pre-achievements EF.
- The student can only register for subjects with free study places:
- Admission-free subjects
- Admission-restricted subjects with free places (remaining place allocation; first come, first served - see below)
- The student is subject to the same subject-specific requirements as students who study the chosen subject as a main subject (including study prerequisites, e.g., Latin).
- The student has not lost the examination entitlement in the corresponding main subject.
Within this framework, students can study the regular modules of a third B.Ed. main subject, with the exception of the Bachelor's thesis.
Which languages must I know?
The language of study and examination is German. Individual courses may be conducted in English. Good English skills are expected for literature studies. Therefore, English skills are required. However, a formal proof of English skills is not necessary. German language skills in the amount of DSH-2 (Testdaf4) are required for foreign students.
International applicants without German-language university entrance qualification must demonstrate German language skills in accordance with the enrollment regulations of the university (see also information on proof of language proficiency / DSH language test)

Which topics are dealt with in the program?
