The Master's program in Ethnologie/Social and Cultural Anthropology is an international research-oriented two-year study program. Requirements and Application
- Selection procedure: The Master program has no special requirements for admission. An application via the Online Application Portal is necessary.
- Entry requirements: Applicants need to demonstrate that they meet the academic requirements for admission to the M.A. Program, usually a B.A.-degree in Social and/or Cultural Anthropology. Students may be expected to take extra courses to obtain any skills lacking from their Bachelor's program. Since all courses are offered in English, applicants must have successfully passed the Cambridge Certificate Test B2.
Program Details
- Curriculum content: Students attend courses on regional, theoretical, and thematic topics and have an opportunity to get training in the field of Applied Anthropology. In the third semester, students go abroad to either Central or South Asia where they conduct a research project or work as an intern in an organization.
- Regional focus: The regional focus on South and Central Asia is complemented by research and courses on Africa and the Middle East.
- Anthropological library: The University of Tübingen offers access to a wide range of sources and research literature to facilitate high-quality teaching and research.
