  • The program can only be studied as a second major subject in combination with Sozialpädagogik/Pädagogik and allgemeinbildendes Fach – Bachelor of Education at vocational schools as the first major subject, and is admission-free in this combination.

Program Details

  • The program "Politikwissenschaft" covers the entire breadth of the field of political science.
  • Students are taught theoretical and methodological knowledge as well as problem-solving skills.
  • The program includes the following areas:
    • Political systems in comparison, particularly Germany and the European Union, sectoral state activity, and policy field analysis
    • International relations in general and those of Germany and the European Union in particular
    • Theories and methods of the field of political science
  • A project seminar, the Lehrforschungsprojekt, allows students to apply their skills and knowledge.
  • Students work on a self-chosen research project in a student group, accompanied by experienced scientists, over two semesters, which is part of the examination module.
  • Additionally, students can deepen their knowledge in one of the areas of political science within the framework of the Wahlmodul.
  • Students also acquire so-called überfachliche Qualifikationen, where they can set special priorities: internships, language courses, EDV courses.
