Which languages must I know?
No prior knowledge of languages is required. However, good English skills are necessary, as a large part of the specialist literature is written in English. Chinese language skills are not required, but if you have them, you can take a language test to determine your level.
Which other subjects can I combine with my main subject?
Sinology as a minor subject can be combined with all BA major subjects. However, it is not possible to combine it with natural sciences (B.Sc.) or medicine. Please note that many major subjects have restricted admission, so it is essential to inform yourself about deadlines and conditions in good time.

The program provides a comprehensive education in Mandarin Chinese and offers the opportunity to gain a solid understanding of Chinese history, politics, and society. The Bachelor's program consists of modules, including language courses, introductions to Sinology, and courses on the history and politics of the Greater China region.
