Introduction to the Program

The University of York offers a unique undergraduate program in History of Art with German, providing students with the opportunity to delve into the study of art history and the German language. • Understanding German-speaking Cultures and Societies

Year 2

In the second year, students will take core modules in History of Art and German, as well as option modules. The core modules include:

Year 3

In the third year, students will go abroad for a year, where they can choose to study at a partner university or complete a work placement or internship. The year abroad is assessed on a pass/fail basis by the University of York.

Year 4

In the final year, students will take core and option modules, including a dissertation. The core modules include:

Entry Requirements

The typical offer for the program is AAB at A level, with no requirement for an A level in History of Art or a language. Students may also be considered with other qualifications, such as the International Baccalaureate or Access to Higher Education Diploma. English language proficiency is also required, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
