Architecture Master of Science (M.Sc.)
The Architecture Master of Science (M.Sc.) program at KIT is a four-semester, full-time program that deepens and expands students' creative, technical, and scientific skills in architecture. The program is structured as a project course, with a focus on design and a comprehensive curriculum that includes architectural core competencies, specialization, and interdisciplinary qualifications.
Program Structure
The program consists of four semesters, with a total of 120 ECTS credit points. The curriculum includes:
- Designing (46 CP)
- Architectural Core Competencies (16 CP)
- Specialization (22 CP)
- Interdisciplinary Qualifications (6 CP)
- Master's thesis (30 CP)
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must have:
- A bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- A minimum of 180 ECTS credits
- Completed a 12-week internship in an architectural office or building construction department
- Passed a subject-specific study aptitude test (design and project portfolio/interview)
- Demonstrated sufficient knowledge of German or English (level C1 or B2, respectively)
Career Prospects
Graduates of the program can work as managers in planning, design, and layout of buildings and building concepts, or as freelance architects. They can also find employment in construction planning, historic preservation, urban planning, and development, landscape planning and design, traffic planning, spatial planning, and research and teaching.

Selection Procedure
The selection procedure is based on a ranking list of applicants who meet the admission requirements. The ranking list is based on a maximum of 100 achievable points, with points awarded for:
- Overall grade of the final academic examination (max. 15 points)
- Letter of motivation (max. 5 points)
- Subject-specific study aptitude test (design and project portfolio/interview) (max. 80 points)
