Introduction to the BSc Psychological and Behavioural Science Programme
The BSc Psychological and Behavioural Science programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is an interdisciplinary degree that explores the human mind and behaviour in a societal context. Programme Structure
The programme is structured over three years, with students taking 12 units, plus LSE100. The first year includes two compulsory psychology courses, two compulsory methodology courses, and one option from outside the department. The second year involves seven half-unit compulsory courses, focusing on psychology and methodology, and one other option from outside the department. The third year provides students with the chance to take more advanced courses in psychological and behavioural science, and methodology, including an independent research project.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, students must meet the following entry requirements:
- Home students: A*AA, including at least one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology
- Overseas students: 39 points overall, including 766 at higher level, including at least one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology at higher level
- GCSEs: Several GCSE grades at A (or 7) and A* (or 8-9), with a minimum of GCSE English Language grade at B (6) or higher, and Mathematics grade at A (7) or higher
- Contextual admissions: AAA, including at least one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology for home students, and 38 points overall, including 766 at higher level, including at least one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology at higher level for overseas students
Fees and Funding
The tuition fees for the programme are:
- Home students: £9,535 per year
- Overseas students: £30,700 per year LSE provides generous financial support, in the form of bursaries and scholarships, to UK, EU, and overseas students.
Learning and Assessment
The programme is taught through a combination of lectures, classes, and independent study. Students are assessed through a range of methods, including formative coursework, summative assessment, and written examinations.
