MSc International Health Policy

The MSc International Health Policy programme allows students to analyze current and emerging health care problems and the range of health policies being developed to address them through the application of health policy and economic principles. Students also learn to analyze health systems from an international and comparative perspective.

Programme Details

• Study mode: Home full-time students (12 months), Home part-time students (24 months), Overseas full-time students (12 months)
• Academic year: 2026/27
• Start date: 28 September 2026
• Location: Houghton Street, London
• Application deadline: None – rolling admissions. However, please note the funding deadlines.

Entry Requirements

• Upper second class honours (2:1) degree or equivalent in any discipline.
• English language requirements: The English language requirement for this programme is Standard.
• Competition for places: Competition for places at LSE is strong. So, even if you meet the minimum entry requirements, this doesn't guarantee you an offer of a place.

Programme Content

• Compulsory half unit courses: Three compulsory half unit courses
• Dissertation: A compulsory 6,000-word dissertation which may be written in conjunction with a summer placement within a government department, international agency, private organisation, or academic research institution.
• Optional courses: Students choose courses from a range of options across the Health Policy Department and other relevant Departments such as Economics and Methodology.

Fees and Funding

• Home student fee: £24,000 (2026/27)
• Overseas student fee: £34,500 (2026/27)
• Fee status: At LSE, your tuition fees, and eligibility for any financial support, will depend on whether you’re classified as a home or overseas student.
• Scholarships, bursaries and loans: We offer some needs-based awards for this programme, including the Graduate Support Scheme.
