Program Overview

Course Description

The course "Benvenuti in Italia! Orientarsi con l'italiano - Part 2" is a beginner's course that guides students in the discovery of the Italian language and culture. The course is divided into 2 parts, with Part II continuing the story of Anna and Alex, two Erasmus students who arrive in Bologna. The course is organized in 4 main units, plus an introductory unit and a final assessment unit.

Estimated Effort

The estimated effort for the course is 8-10 hours per week for 4 to 5 weeks. The course is flexible, and students can distribute their time as they see fit. However, it is recommended that students devote a significant amount of time to the course to achieve the best results.

Pre-requisites

The pre-requisites for the course include basic knowledge of English, as it is the language of instruction. Having taken Part I of the course is not compulsory but is strongly recommended.

Course Structure

The course is organized into the following units:

  • Introductory unit: revises preliminary information
  • Units 5-8: include a story with seven situations, comprehension quizzes, grammar explanations, cultural pills, and language exercises
  • Final assessment unit: evaluates the student's understanding of the course material

Quizzes and Scores

The course includes several quizzes, with some questions not being evaluated. The Homework and Final Assessment are evaluated, with the Homework weighing 20% of the final score and the Final Assessment weighing 80%. The correct answers will be shown after all attempts have been used, and the system will record the result of the final attempt.

Certificate of Accomplishment

A Certificate of Accomplishment will be released if students successfully complete the course by answering correctly to at least 60% of the evaluated questions. The certificate is signed by Professor Andrea Ceccherelli, scientific coordinator of the E-LOCAL project and courses.
