Program Overview

International PhD College

The International PhD College (I-PHD) is a multidisciplinary community of Italian and international PhD students from diverse areas of study and research. It is a third-cycle training and research program organized by the Collegio Superiore, complementary to the University's PhD courses.

Description

The I-PHD College is designed for PhD students who want to build their academic and professional network, enrich their research work with interdisciplinary co-working activities, and immerse themselves in a multicultural environment. The program integrates the research activity of the PhD students with "coworking" interdisciplinarity.

Objectives

At the end of the three-year PhD program (or at the end of the third year for four-year PhD programs), I-PHD College PhD students must present at least one product or activity for the dissemination and divulgation of science and knowledge that contributes to civil society.

Tutoring

Each I-PHD College PhD student will be assigned a tutor from the University, from a different disciplinary area, who will support them in their research activity and in identifying and realizing initiatives or products for the restitution of research results to the community and civil society.

Participation

PhD students will actively participate in meetings, initiatives, and projects organized by the Collegio Superiore and other University schools.

Admission

The admission to the I-PHD College is reserved for highly motivated and deserving Italian and international students who are admitted to one of the University's PhD courses.

Selection

For the academic year 2025/2026, a selection is established for 10 positions (normally 5 for the Scientific-Technological Area and 5 for the Humanistic-Social Area).

Eligibility

Only PhD students who have given their consent to the transmission of their personal data to the competent Secretariat of the Collegio Superiore can apply.

Research Areas

The I-PHD College is open to PhD students from diverse areas of study and research, including but not limited to:

  • Area Scientifico-tecnologica (Scientific-Technological Area)
