Course to Become a Lifeguard

The Lifeguard Certification issued by the Italian Swimming Federation (FIN) is the only one that complies with the requirements outlined by the guidelines of the ILS (International Life Saving Federation) for the recognition of certifications internationally.

Certifications Awarded at the End of the Course:

• FIN Lifeguard Qualification
• 388/03 Emergency First Aid Certification
• Corporate First Aid Certification
• Defibrillator Use Certification

Eligibility and Requirements

• Open to everyone aged 16 to under 50.
• Member CUSB
• The course is intended for those who already possess excellent swimming skills, including mastery of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke techniques.

Course Details

• Course Period: The course will take place in March, April, and May 2025 and includes both theoretical sessions and practical training in the pool. At the end of the course, a theoretical-practical exam will be held.
• Location: Record Facility / Record Swimming Pool
• Admission Test - Date and Time: Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM
• Deadline for registration for the entrance test: Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Admission Test Requirements:

1. Perform a head-first dive from the poolside
2. Swim 150 meters continuously using any technique
3. Swim 50 meters continuously using freestyle
4. Swim 50 meters continuously using backstroke
5. Swim 50 meters continuously using breaststroke
6. Swim 12.5 meters continuously underwater
7. Stay in an upright position in the water for 20 seconds with head and hands above the surface

Course Schedule and Cost

• Course Start Date: Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 8:00 PM
• Course Schedule: Thursdays at 8:00 PM (theory) | Sundays at 8:30 AM or 2:00 PM (practical water sessions, either morning or afternoon)
• Cost: €429.00 (€149.00 to be paid to our Federated Swim School / €280.00 to be paid via the Italian Swimming Federation portal*)
  *Five-year membership fee
