Overview
The PhD in Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures: Diversity and Inclusion is a three-year program that aims to train young researchers in the field of modern languages, literatures, and cultures. - EDGES: reading as a cognitive, creative, and emancipatory act
- World Literature and Postcolonial Studies: reading as a cognitive, creative, and emancipatory act
- LINGMOD: reading as an act that is capable of attributing agency to subjects who are historically excluded from cultural practices

The admission board consists of members and substitutes from the University of Bologna.
Languages
The languages required for each curriculum are:
- DESE: French, and at least three European literatures
- EDGES: Italian, English, and Spanish
- World Literature and Postcolonial Studies: English
- LINGMOD: Italian, and two languages chosen from a list of languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, English, Dutch, Spanish, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, and German.
PR ESF+ 2021/2027 Funding Approval
The program has received funding approval from the Emilia-Romagna Regional Council for the 41st cycle.
