Introduction to the Scuola di Specializzazione in Chirurgia Orale

The Scuola di Specializzazione in Chirurgia Orale is a three-year program designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of oral surgery. The program aims to train specialists who have acquired theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge in the field of fisiopatologia, istopatologia, clinica, and terapia delle alterazioni odontostomatologiche di interesse chirurgico.

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Credits: 180 CFU
  • Frequency: The frequency of the lessons, conferences, seminars, as well as participation in practical activities, is mandatory and is considered acquired with participation in at least 70% of each training activity.
  • Final Exam: The final exam consists of the discussion of the specialization thesis and takes into account the results of periodic evaluations derived from the in-progress tests, as well as the judgments of the teacher-tutors for the professionalizing part.

Admission Criteria

  • Requirements: To be admitted to the Scuola di Specializzazione in Chirurgia Orale, candidates must possess a laurea ante D.M. 509/99 in Odontoiatria e protesi dentaria, or a laurea specialistica (classe 52/S) in Odontoiatria e protesi dentaria, or a laurea magistrale (classe LM-46) in Odontoiatria e protesi dentaria.
  • Abilitation: Candidates must also possess the relative abilitation to the exercise of Odontoiatria, obtained by the deadline of the call.
  • Foreign Titles: Citizens of the European Union and citizens of non-EU countries, in possession of a degree obtained from a foreign university, can apply if they are in possession of an academic title that is equivalent, in terms of duration and content, to the Italian academic title required for access.

  • Commission: The Commission giudicatrice is composed of Prof. Pietro Felice (President), Proff: Ciocca Leonardo, Badiali Giovanni, Gissi Davide Bartolomeo, Incerti Parenti Serena, Breschi Lorenzo (sost), Giovanni Zucchelli (sost) Prof. Achille Tarsitano (sost).
  • Written and Oral Exams: The admission to the School is conditioned by the positive judgment formulated after the completion of a written and oral exam.
  • Evaluation of Titles: The Commission giudicatrice evaluates the titles presented by the candidates, with a maximum score of 100 points, of which 30 points are assigned following the evaluation of the written exam, 40 points are assigned following the evaluation of the oral exam, and the remaining 30 points are assigned following the evaluation of the titles.

  • Scholarships: The University of Bologna confers 4 scholarships of €7,285.00 per year to students who are admitted to the Scuola di Specializzazione in Chirurgia Orale, according to the art. 2 of the Law 398/89.
