Introduction to the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico Artistici
The Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico-Artistici is a two-year program designed to prepare highly qualified professionals in the fields of protection, management, conservation, and enhancement of historical and artistic heritage. This program provides a valuable title for access to national superintendencies and museums and art galleries, both public and private.

The primary objectives of the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico-Artistici include:
- Preparing figures highly qualified in the protection, management, conservation, and enhancement of historical and artistic heritage.
- Providing a useful title for access to national superintendencies and museums and art galleries, both public and private.
- Enabling graduates to operate with responsibility in administrative and technical levels of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, in public structures responsible for protection, conservation, restoration, management, enhancement, cataloging of historical and artistic heritage, as well as in structures with organizational functions in the historical and artistic sector.

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico-Artistici, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Laurea Specialistica in Storia dell'Arte (class 95/S) or a Laurea Magistrale in Storia dell’Arte/Arti Visive (class LM-89).
- Alternatively, candidates with a laurea del vecchio ordinamento (old system degree) that is equivalent to the above-mentioned degrees, according to the Decreto Interministeriale del 9 luglio 2009, are also eligible. These include degrees in Conservazione dei beni culturali, DAMS, Lettere, Lingue e civiltà orientali, Storia e conservazione dei beni culturali.
- For candidates with a 3+2 degree (Laurea + Laurea Magistrale/Specialistica), it is indispensable to have acquired a minimum of 80 CFU in the disciplinary sectors characterizing the School and no less than 20 CFU in the related sectors.
- Candidates with a Diploma di Laurea quadriennale (four-year degree from the old system) must have taken equivalent exams.
Admission Process
Admission to the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico-Artistici is through a competitive examination based on exams and titles. The oral exam will take place on the Teams platform starting from November 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The modalities will be published on the UNIBO Portal page of the School.
Program Details
- Places and Scholarships: 35 places and 2 scholarships are available.
- Final Exam: Students who have passed the theoretical-practical exam of the last year will be admitted to the final exam, which consists of the discussion of an original work in the form of a scientific project (specialization thesis). The judgment will take into account the evaluations reported in the annual exams, as well as the results of the periodic evaluations. Those who pass the final exam will be awarded the Diploma di Specialista in Beni Storico-artistici.
