Program Overview
Academics
The Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering at Seoul National University offers a comprehensive program that integrates the study of architecture and architectural engineering.
Undergraduate Program
The undergraduate program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the principles of architecture and architectural engineering. The program consists of four basic studios and various technical courses that are interconnected to help students experience the diverse fields of architecture.
- Basic Studio 1 (Architecture and Expression)
- Basic Studio 2 (Architecture and Structure)
- Basic Studio 3 (Architecture and Environment)
- Basic Studio 4 (Fabrication Design)
- These studios are paired with theoretical courses to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
- Technical courses include:
- Architecture and Computer
- Construction Environmental Planning
- History of Architecture 1
- History of Architecture 2
- Architecture Structure System
- Mechanics of Materials in Architectural Engineering
- Building Construction and Construction Management
Program Requirements
After completing the integrated curriculum, students are required to apply for a major (Architectural Engineering or Architecture) at the end of the fourth semester.
- The allocation of majors is based on the student's academic performance and preferences.
- The principle of allocation is to maintain a 1:1 ratio between Architectural Engineering and Architecture majors.
- If one major has more applicants than the other, the allocation will be based on academic performance, with a maximum of 60% of students allocated to one major.
Graduation Requirements
The program has specific graduation requirements that students must fulfill to complete their degree.
