The Certification Course for Kindergarten Principals is a program designed for aspiring and current kindergarten principals. The course aims to train leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Course Objectives
Upon completing the course, participants should be able to:
- Establish a mission and vision for their leadership role and continuous professional development.
- Understand the role and functions of a kindergarten principal, including management and supervision principles.
- Develop strategies for building a shared vision with stakeholders.
- Manage resources effectively and promote high-quality early childhood education.
- Plan and evaluate teacher professional development and performance.
- Review and enhance school curriculum planning and implementation.
- Provide support for students with diverse needs and create a positive learning environment.
- Recognize the importance of community resources and establish school-community connections.
- Develop effective home-school cooperation mechanisms.
Course Content
The course focuses on four core areas:
- Management and organization
- School culture and support for children
- Child development
- Leadership and school improvement
Target Audience
The course is designed for:
- Individuals with a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) degree or equivalent, and at least three years of teaching experience in kindergartens, who aspire to become kindergarten principals.
- Current kindergarten principals.
Graduation Requirements
Participants must complete all courses, attend at least 85% of classes, and achieve satisfactory grades. Additionally, they must complete a research project after finishing all coursework.
Tuition Fees
The total tuition fee for the course is HK$25,500.
Course Schedule
The course is scheduled to take place over two weeks in late July, with additional classes on weekday evenings from October to mid-December. The exact schedule for elective courses may vary.
