Overview of the BSc Accountancy (Flying Start) Programme
The BSc Accountancy (Flying Start) programme is a collaboration between Queen Mary University of London, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Teaching and Learning
The programme combines academic study with integrated professional work placements at PwC and progress towards the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification. Students will be supported by a team of dedicated staff from both the School and PwC.
Assessment
Assessment typically includes a combination of coursework and/or examinations in May or June.
Entry Requirements
- A-Level: Grades AAA at A-Level
- IB: International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 36 points overall
- BTEC: See detailed subject and grade requirements
- Access HE: We consider applications from students with the Access to Higher Education Diploma
- GCSE: Minimum five GCSE passes including English at grade C or 4 and Maths at grade A or 7
- EPQ: Alternative offers may be made to applicants taking the Extended Project Qualification

Funding
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) offers a financial bursary for BSc Accountancy students, subject to eligibility criteria. Queen Mary also provides specialist support on all financial and welfare issues through its Advice and Counselling Service.
Careers
The vast majority of finalists on Flying Start programmes with PwC have received a job offer at the company after graduation, often becoming fully-qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountants just over a year after graduation. Graduates of Flying Start programmes have also moved into non-accounting roles at PwC.
