Structure
The BSc in Mathematics with Computing can be completed in three or four years. Students can choose to do a professional placement or year abroad, which takes place in Year 3, and Year 3 modules will instead be studied in Year 4.

Study Options
The program offers three study options:
- Mathematics with Computing BSc (Hons)
- Mathematics with Computing with Year in Industry BSc (Hons)
- Mathematics with Computing with Year Abroad BSc (Hons)
Teaching and Learning
Students learn through lectures, tutorials, and exercise classes, with many computing modules having a practical element presented in computer labs. Formal teaching time typically takes up 16 hours each week, with additional hours of independent study expected.
Assessment
Most modules are assessed by an examination (usually worth between 60% and 80% of the module mark) with the remainder covered by a combination of coursework, tests, oral presentations, and group tasks.

Entry Requirements
- A-Level: Grades ABB at A-Level, including grade A or above in A-Level Mathematics.
- IB: International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 32 points overall, including 6,5,5 from three Higher Level subjects, with Mathematics at Higher Level.
- BTEC: See detailed subject and grade requirements.
- Access HE: Considered on a case-by-case basis.
- GCSE: Minimum five GCSE passes, including English at grade C or 4.
- Contextualised admissions: Standard contextual offer BBC, including B in Maths at A-Level; enhanced contextual offer BCC, including B in Maths at A-Level.
Funding
- Loans and grants: UK students are eligible to apply for tuition fee and maintenance loans from Student Finance England or other government bodies.
- Scholarships and bursaries: Queen Mary offers a generous package of scholarships and bursaries, with specific funding for local students and international students.
Careers
