Màster Universitari en Ciències Jurídiques Avançades

The Màster Universitari en Ciències Jurídiques Avançades has a clear international and global vocation. Its contents have been adapted to be attractive and interesting for a varied and international audience, and it has an extensive network of strategic relationships with other international master's programs, both European and North American and Latin American. As a result of this network, the master's program is part of, for example, the CIEL agreement, which brings together six European universities of high level that offer a joint certificate in European and International Comparative Law. These universities are, in addition to the UPF, the following: Maastricht University (Maastricht, Holland), Universität Mannheim (Mannheim, Germany), Universiteit Antwerpen (Antwerp, Belgium), Université Toulouse 1 Capitole (Toulouse, France) and University of Zagreb (Zagreb, Croatia).

One of the main attractions of the master's program is that almost all the subjects offered are optional (there is only one compulsory subject with a transversal content, in addition to the final master's project). Therefore, the student can choose and design their academic itinerary freely. All students, who are international and come from different countries of the world, have the opportunity to access the first-level research activities organized by the Department of Law or any of its areas of knowledge.

Estructura i pla d'estudis

The master's degree is obtained by passing a minimum of 60 ECTS distributed as follows:

• 6 ECTS of the only compulsory subject
• 40 ECTS of optional subjects, distributed in 3 specialties (Civil and Business Law, Public Law, Administration and Regulated Sectors, International Law and European Integration)
• 14 ECTS of the Final Master's Project

If you take a minimum of 20 ECTS credits from a specialty (5 subjects at least), you will be recognized with the title of that specialty. The choice of a specialty is optional. Only one specialty is recognized in the title, even if the student takes the credits necessary to obtain more than one. The credits taken in subjects without a specified specialty do not count towards obtaining any of them.

Programa d'intercanvi CIEL

Exchange program for graduates that aims to promote the mobility of master's students who study comparative, international and European legislation at various universities. Students who complete the CIEL program will obtain the certificate of Master in European Comparative and International Law (CIEL), in addition to their master's degree.
