Introduction
The Master's in Comparative Studies of Literature, Art, and Thought has a multidisciplinary orientation that highlights the relationships between the arts and different cultural discourses, both from a contemporary and historical perspective. It welcomes students seeking transversal training and often has interests and objectives that do not fit into traditional knowledge divisions or specialized postgraduate programs.

- Form researchers capable of pursuing academic excellence in doctoral studies in the field of Humanities.
- Form professionals with a transversal vision of artistic languages and contemporary cultural phenomena.
Destinataries
Candidates are expected to have intellectual curiosity, academic rigor, and the ability to establish relationships between different fields of knowledge. From an open intellectual position, participants in the master's program must be able to start from their capacities for autonomous learning and accumulated formative experience in any of the program's areas to deeply investigate the interrelations and processes that have generated the fertile complexity of contemporary culture.
Competències Bàsiques
- CB1: Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context.
- CB2: Students know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their problem-solving ability in new or little-known environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.
- CB3: Students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
- CB4: Students know how to communicate their conclusions and the knowledge or reasons that support them to specialized and non-specialized publics without ambiguity.
- CB5: Students possess the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a largely self-directed or autonomous manner.
Duration and Calendar
- Duration: 1 academic year full-time, 2 academic years part-time (60 ECTS credits).
- Calendar: From September to June.

Structure and Study Plan
To obtain the master's degree, it is necessary to pass a minimum of 60 ECTS that can be taken full-time (1 academic year) or part-time (2 academic years). The credits are distributed as follows:
- 20 ECTS corresponding to four compulsory subjects.
- 25 ECTS to choose from optional subjects.
- 15 ECTS corresponding to the Final Master's Project, which is compulsory.
If the master's degree is taken part-time, the distribution of subjects is as follows:
- First year: 3 compulsory subjects (15 ECTS) and 3 optional subjects (15 ECTS).
- Second year: 1 compulsory subject (5 ECTS), 2 optional subjects (10 ECTS), and the Final Master's Project (15 ECTS).

- Introduction to Comparative Literature.
- Theory of the Arts.
- Introduction to Contemporary Thought.
- Introduction to Doctoral Research.
Optional Subjects (25 ECTS in total)
The study plan includes an offer of 45 optional subjects of 5 ECTS each, from which a selection is made for each academic year. Students must take a total of 25 ECTS (5 subjects).

- The Master's in Comparative Studies of Literature, Art, and Thought does not offer curricular practices.
