About this Master
The Master in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences is a challenging field that requires working knowledge of different disciplines. There are two kinds of candidate profiles: students with a degree in Biological and Health sciences (Biology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, etc.) and students with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and basic scientific disciplines (Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics). Candidates should be interested in the development and application of computational tools useful in the biomedical field.

- Students with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and basic scientific disciplines (Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics)
Selection Criteria
- The candidate selection procedure is based on the following criteria:
- Academic record, assessed in accordance with UPF's academic record assessment regulations (50% of the evaluation)
- Suitability of the candidate's profile to the goals and content of the master's program (40% of the evaluation)
- Additional academic training or professional experience in areas related to the master's program (10% of the evaluation)
- The assessment of the candidate's suitability will be based on:
- A motivation letter (maximum of 600 words in English) outlining the candidate's suitability for the Master and their professional goals
- The content of an academic or professional reference written by someone who knows the candidate well and can provide a detailed assessment of them
Mandatory Documents
- Official university bachelor's or master's degree from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or equivalent foreign degree allowing access to a postgraduate degree in the country that issued the degree
- Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin
- Curriculum Vitae in English
- Letter of motivation in English, stating the candidate's interest in following the master's program (400 to 600 words)
- Professional or academic letter of recommendation signed by someone who really knows the candidate and can assess them

- Students from the EU: 1,302 €
- Non-EU students: 5,749.8 € (1 academic year)
Undergraduate Degree/Diploma and Academic Transcript
- If the applicant has finished their Bachelor's degree, they need to send a photocopy of their undergraduate degree/diploma or certification/proof of degree completion and a photocopy of their official final undergraduate transcript
- If the applicant has not yet completed their undergraduate studies, they need to provide a signed declaration of obtaining their degree before the commencement of the master's program and a photocopy of the provisional undergraduate transcript
- If the diploma or academic transcript are not written in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, or Italian, the applicant needs to include the respective sworn translations into Catalan or Spanish.
