Overview
The Master's in Comparative Studies of Literature, Art, and Thought is a postgraduate program offered by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the comparative study of literature, art, and thought.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Official University Degree: An official university degree in a relevant field (humanities, history of art, philosophy, languages and literatures, history, theory of literature and literature comparative, journalism, audiovisual communication, translation and interpretation, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, education and pedagogy, fine arts, architecture, or geography) from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or an equivalent foreign degree that allows access to a postgraduate university degree in the country where the degree was issued.
- Academic Transcript: An official academic transcript with the average grade of the university of origin.
- Curriculum Vitae: A curriculum vitae written in Catalan or Spanish.
- Language Competence Declaration: A declaration of language competence.
- Research Proposal: A research proposal in Spanish or Catalan, with a length of between 600 and 800 words.
- National Identity Document or Passport: A national identity document or passport.
Optional Documentation
- Letter of Recommendation: A letter of recommendation.
- Work Experience: Work experience in a sector related to the thematic area of the master's degree.
- Research Experience: Research experience.
- Teaching Experience: Teaching experience.
- Complementary Academic Training: Complementary academic training in areas related to the master's degree.
- Complementary Professional Training: Complementary professional training.

Pre-Enrollment
To pre-enroll, students must submit the required documentation and complete the online pre-enrollment process. If the title or academic transcript is not in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, or Portuguese, a sworn translation into Catalan or Spanish must be attached.
Additional Requirements
- If the student has already completed their undergraduate studies, they must submit a photocopy of their official university degree or a receipt for the payment of the degree issuance fees, as well as a photocopy of their official academic transcript.
- If the student has not yet completed their undergraduate studies, they must submit a signed declaration stating that they will obtain their degree before the start of the master's program, as well as a photocopy of their provisional academic transcript.
