Overview

The Màster en Estudis Comparatius de Literatura, Art i Pensament is a master's program offered by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Program Structure

• The program includes a Treball de Fi de Màster (TFM), which is a research project that students must complete to graduate.
• The TFM is worth 15 ECTS credits.

Treball de Fi de Màster (TFM)

Proposal and Direction

• Students must submit a proposal for their TFM, including a title, outline, and abstract, to a potential director by February 19th of each academic year.
• The director must receive the proposal before February 19th to accept the supervision of the TFM.
• The student and director must have begun discussions well before February 19th to ensure the director can accept the supervision.

Submission and Defense

• The student must submit a first draft of the TFM to the director by May 15th of each academic year.
• The director will review the draft and provide feedback to the student.
• The final version of the TFM must be submitted in digital format (PDF) by June of each academic year.
• The TFM must include the following information on the cover page:
  • Title of the TFM
  • Author's name
  • Director's name
  • Title of the master's program
  • Academic year
  • Date of submission

Format and Length

• The TFM must be between 60 and 75 pages (maximum) in length, double-spaced, and in PDF format.
• The TFM must include a bibliography, which can be either a list of cited works or a commented bibliography.

Defense

• The defense of the TFM is a public act.
• The student will present their TFM for a maximum of 10 minutes, followed by comments and questions from the tribunal.
• The tribunal will be composed of at least three members, all of whom must be doctors and professors at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
• The defense can take place before the summer break or in September, depending on the academic calendar.

• The program follows the academic regulations of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, which include the Normativa Acadèmica de Màster Universitari and the Normativa de Permanència.

e-Repositori

• The Universitat Pompeu Fabra has an institutional repository where TFMs that have received an Excellent grade (9.0-10) can be published.
• Authors must fill out an authorization form and choose a license for their TFM to be published in the repository.
