Máster en Salud Pública (MSP)
Program Overview
Máster en Salud Pública (MSP)
The Master's in Public Health (MSP) program has been conceived as an innovative teaching model. It is oriented towards the development of the necessary competencies to practice public health, emphasizing professionalism, critical scientific thinking, and modern, integrated training. The main differential elements of the program compared to other public health master's programs in Spain are:
- The curriculum, structured in 2 academic years (120 ECTS), including a Final Master's Project (TFM) of 30 ECTS. This involves the incorporation of students into a leading public health research center for an entire academic year and the completion of mandatory professional practices (14 ECTS).
- The curriculum allows students to choose from 4 formative itineraries focused on health promotion, disease prevention, health protection and the environment, and health services.
- The reduction of magisterial classes, with the objective of expanding active learning activities.
- The increase in teaching imparted with the problem-based learning (PBL) method, where interdisciplinary real problems are worked on and tools are provided to develop transversal competencies.

Proyecto Salud Planetaria
In the current context of climate and environmental crisis, the master's program has incorporated planetary health and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as transversal axes of the program, complementing the other two major axes already existing, the social determinants of health and advanced research methodology.
This project is aligned with the initiative on Planetary Wellbeing led by the Pompeu Fabra University, through the Center for Planetary Wellbeing Studies, a collaborator of the program.
