Program Overview


Program Overview

The Master in European and Global Law is a postgraduate program offered by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The program is designed for students with a background in law, labor relations, criminology, political sciences, philosophy, politics and economics, economics, administration and business management, philosophy, sociology, or equivalents.


Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:


  • Official university bachelor's or master's degree from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or equivalent foreign degree allowing access to a postgraduate degree in the country that issued the degree.
  • Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin.
  • Proof of English language (B2 level).
  • A cover letter explaining the candidate’s international vocation for global law or comparative law.
  • Identity Card or Passport.

Optional Documents

Applicants may also submit the following optional documents:


  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Professional experience in any of the fields related to the master's programme.
  • Research experience.
  • Teaching experience.

Admission Criteria

The Master’s Selection Committee of the Law Department will consider applications and select candidates according to the following criteria:


  • Academic background: transcript of records from undergraduate studies -and graduate studies if done.
  • Candidate global profile and suitability for the programme: background studies, university of origin, global assessment of the CV (including professional experience and other relevant activities), assessment of the motivation letter, etc.
  • Professional experience: It will be considered if such experience exists in relevant legal or political areas.
  • Support by recommendation letters: references from former professors, employers, etc.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the program are as follows:


  • UE students: 1,302 €
  • Non EU Students: 5,749.8 €
