Doctorat Industrial

Description

The "Doctorat Industrial" is a mention that is awarded in the title of doctor. This mention will be granted when the following circumstances are met:

• The thesis has developed a research project of industrial, commercial, social, or cultural interest for an entity, company, public or private administration. Universities, public research organizations (national or autonomous), and university hospitals are excluded. Exceptionally, this mention can be made to any of these institutions, except universities, as long as the content of the thesis is eminently applied.
• A direct relationship between the doctoral thesis and the task developed by the doctoral student at the entity or company must be formalized in a scientific-technical report that must be approved by the university.
• A convention must be signed between the entity, company, or public administration and the university for the academic development of the doctoral thesis, which will establish, at a minimum, the obligations of the parties and the industrial property rights that may be generated.
• The doctoral student must have been contracted by the entity, company, or public administration where they develop the research project for at least 1 year during the development of the thesis. It is necessary that a substantial part of the thesis is developed in the company, entity, or public administration.

The doctoral student will have a thesis tutor designated by the university and a person responsible designated by the entity, company, or public administration, who may be, in their case, the Director of the thesis in accordance with RD 99/2011. In no case can the person responsible for the company be part of the thesis evaluation tribunal.

Procedure

1. In the case of participating in an industrial doctorate project, this must have the approval of the Academic Commission of your Doctoral Program. Address the Doctoral Secretariat for queries related to this procedure.
2. If you are an industrial doctoral student, verify in the "Thesis Data" section, within the "Doctoral Thesis Monitoring Module", that the industrial doctorate is duly informed. In case of a negative result, you can contact the secretariat of your Doctoral Program.

Resolution

It corresponds to the Doctoral Commission of your Program to grant or deny the realization of an industrial doctorate. The program's secretariat will notify you of the resolution.
