Introduction to the Doctoral Program in Communication
The Doctoral Program in Communication is designed for students who wish to specialize in communication research, regardless of their background. The program is offered by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Admission
The admission process for the Doctoral Program in Communication begins with pre-enrollment and the submission of a research proposal. The proposal is evaluated by the Academic Commission of Doctoral Studies (CAD) along with the applicant's academic record and letters of recommendation.
Pre-enrollment
- Number of places: 30
- The recommended entry profile includes:
- A research proposal aligned with the department's research lines
- Inter- or transdisciplinary training
- Minimum English level: B2
- High communication skills, both oral and written
- Intellectual curiosity, autonomy in learning, ability to work in a group, and analytical thinking
Evaluation Criteria
The applicant must submit a research proposal following the model approved by the CAD. The commission evaluates the applications based on the following criteria:
- Academic record: 40%
- Research proposal: 50%
- Adequacy to the department's research lines: 20%
- Quality of the proposal (objectives, state of the art, method): 20%
- Excellence of the proposal: 5%
- Possession of a scholarship granted to develop the proposed research: 5%
- Letters of recommendation: 10%
Enrollment
Once accepted into the program, the student must formalize their enrollment annually and pay the corresponding public prices within the established deadline. The enrollment period is from September 30 to October 3.
