Màster de Formació del Professorat

The objective of this specialization is to train teachers for the subjects of Catalan and Spanish language and literature in secondary education centers, vocational training centers, and official language schools. Students will acquire a sufficient theoretical basis, as well as many practical knowledge and skills to teach Catalan and Spanish language and literature classes in various contexts of the country (mother tongue, additional language, reception, integrated language treatment, integrated projects, integrated language and content learning, etc.).

The master's program aims to provide an initial and applied training that guarantees that future teachers can assume all the tasks expected of a qualified education professional. The program includes a strong component of technology and communication (TIC), which is already present in education and will be even more relevant in the coming years.

Program Structure

• The program includes a presentation, a study plan (full-time and part-time), teaching staff and teaching plans, and schedules.
• The study plan is divided into two moments: the first trimester, where students get to know the dynamics of a center and observe different classes, and the second trimester, where students prepare and teach classes with the help of a tutor-professor and a mentor from the practice center.
• The program also includes a final project (Treball de Fi de Màster, TFM), tutored by teaching staff, which allows students to deepen into a specific aspect of the teaching profession and prepare for future labor insertion.

Program Details

• The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in psychology, applied linguistics, and pedagogy, as well as current and future trends in teaching methods, pedagogical materials, and language teaching approaches.
• The program includes a strong component of technology and communication (TIC), which is already present in education and will be even more relevant in the coming years.
• Students will learn to use TIC as teachers (applying different technologies and software in the classroom) and as learners of teaching (using digital resources to develop their teaching skills).
