Program Overview
Introduction to the Chinese Language and Culture Program
The Chinese Language and Culture program is a 30-hour, face-to-face, quarterly course designed to provide students with an initial understanding of the Chinese language and culture at the A1 level. The program is open to the UPF community and the external public from the age of 16.
Program Details
- Recipients: This course is open to the UPF community and the external public from the age of 16.
- Duration and modality: 30 hours face-to-face (combined with 45 hours of autonomous work, it reaches a total of 75 hours of teaching-learning).
- Students per group: Minimum 15 - maximum 25.
- Calendar: March-June.
- Start of the enrolment period: 7 January 2026.
- Start of classes: 23 March 2026.
- UPF student credits: On successful completion of the course, 3 ECTS RAC credits and 3 credits for the Minor in Plurilingualism.
- UPF certificate: If you pass the course, approximately two weeks after the end of the course you will receive a UPF certificate indicating the CEFR level achieved.

- Third term
- A1.1 level: Monday and Wednesday, 4:30-6:30 pm, Poblenou Campus
Fee
- Standard fee: 270 € (no discounts apply)
- Conditions: The price of the course includes the teaching, the material and resources available in the Global Classroom of the course, and the UPF certificate of the course.
- Cancellation policy: Idiomes UPF reserves the right to cancel any course that does not reach the minimum number of students required (15). In this case, the full amount of the course will be refunded.
PARLA3 Grants
- If you are an undergraduate student, you can take a course (all levels) and obtain a refund of up to €350 for each course passed.
- If you are a grant-holder undergraduate student at a Catalan university, you do not have to pay the price for the course thanks to the PARLA3 grant for grant holders.
