The "Etica per la Ricerca" (Ethics for Research) course is a high-level training program aimed at providing an introduction to the themes of research ethics applied to the main areas of university and industrial interest. These areas include medical science, psychology, humanities, engineering, technology, biology, anthropology, law, and the environment.

Educational Goals

The course aims to stimulate reflection on several key aspects of research ethics, including:

• Ethical issues involved in the design, implementation, and evaluation of scientific research
• Fundamental methodological elements for the ethical design of research
• Emerging themes in research ethics, such as dual use, artificial intelligence, environment, prototype systems, genetic and genomic data
• Ethico-legal principles involved in human research (reference regulations, privacy, consent to participate in research, involvement of minors, etc.)
• Analysis and design of study protocols admissible to the ethical evaluation of Territorial Ethics Committees (CET) and University Ethics Committees

Reduced Tuition Fees

• A reduced quota of €600 is reserved for PhD students enrolled in a Sapienza University of Rome Doctoral Course.
• A reduced quota of €375 is reserved for TAB staff of Sapienza University of Rome.
