Educational Goals
The training course aims to provide participants with a first approach to knowledge of cultural heritage within libraries and archives. It seeks to raise awareness about the importance of cultural heritage awareness and the fundamental role of prevention. Theoretical lessons are designed to provide knowledge of the forms of collection and archiving of written heritage, as well as the acquisition of ethical principles of conservation, regulations, and guidelines adopted internationally, and the typology of materials conserved in libraries and archives.
Practical Component
Each phase of the practical part of the course will be directly followed by a cultural heritage restorer who will detail the technical methodologies of preventive conservation intervention and will ensure that participants are directly involved in operations that do not pose risks or require prior experience.
