Digital Cardiovascular Medicine, Pathology, And Cutting-edge Therapeutics
Program Overview
Program Overview
The DigiCardioPaTh International PhD Programme aims to train expert researchers in the field of cardiovascular diseases. The program focuses on contributing to the expansion of knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence, identifying innovative diagnostic and therapeutic solutions to complex problems, and implementing miniaturized instrumentation for remote diagnostic monitoring and effectiveness of adopted therapies.
Program Structure
The PhD course offers three different curricula:
- Endovascular and structural interventional cardiology
- Cardiomyopathies and arrhythmias
- Advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging Each curriculum is structured to allow doctoral students to deepen sector-specific topics through teaching by national and international experts, with a focus on evidence-based methodologies in each field.
Endovascular and Structural Interventional Cardiology Curriculum
This curriculum aims to deepen the most advanced endovascular techniques for the diagnosis and treatment guidance of complex cardiovascular pathologies. Doctoral students will also be provided with the notions to develop new and more sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms, including the application of machine learning techniques.
Cardiomyopathies and Arrhythmias Curriculum
This curriculum aims to optimize the diagnosis and treatment of different types of cardiomyopathies through the in-depth study of clinical, genetic, bio-humoral, and instrumental diagnostic screening techniques, as well as to assess the appropriate management of tele-monitoring methods.
Advanced Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging Curriculum
This curriculum will specifically focus on training doctoral students in existing non-invasive diagnostic-instrumental techniques and providing the tools to develop new diagnostic algorithms or applications based on identified 'unmet needs'.
