Educational Objectives
The training course aims to provide participants with a first approach to knowledge of cultural heritage within libraries and archives. It seeks to raise awareness about the importance of cultural heritage and the role of prevention. Theoretical lessons are designed to provide knowledge of the forms of collection and archiving of written heritage, as well as the acquisition of ethical principles of conservation, regulations, and guidelines adopted internationally, and the typology of materials conserved in libraries and archives.
Practical Component
Each phase of the practical part of the course will be directly followed by a cultural heritage restorer who will detail the technical methodologies of preventive conservation intervention. Participants will be allowed to practice directly and individually in operations that do not involve risks or require prior experience.
